Opinel Knife N°06 Padouk Wood
Padouk wood decorates Opinel handles with pink and red hues.
This knife is made of Padouk wood. This wood provides the handle with high moisture resistance.
It offers excellent cutting quality. The safety ring allows the user to work without any risk.
We use modified Sandvik 12C27 stainless steel. It is anti-corrosive thanks to the addition of chromium and does not require special maintenance. Its carbon content of at least 0.40% gives an excellent cutting edge. Blade hardness 57-58 HRC.
Padouk is a dense African wood with a fine grain. Its color varies from purple-brown to pink with purple veins.
Invented by Marcel Opinel in 1955, the Virobloc safety ring is fitted to all N° 06 folding knives. Cut from stainless steel, the Virobloc has two sections, one fixed and one sliding. In addition to locking the blade open (safety in use), it is now possible to lock the blade closed (safety in transport).
